I'm looking for the best way to eat raw garlic. Any tips for reducing the burning sensation when eating it? I usually crush it with a garlic masher, let it sit for 15 minutes, then mix it with a bit of yogurt and olive oil and eat it whole with a bite of my meal. This helps a bit but some days it's very difficult to swallow. I've heard honey might help too. Any other suggestions?

Try using raw garlic as a food rather than just a supplement. Chop it finely and add it as a topping to salads or main dishes. Blend it into hummus or pesto. Garlic can be tasty and enjoyable, so you don't have to endure the discomfort.

The best way to consume raw garlic might not be raw at all. Black or aged garlic contains all the health benefits in a more concentrated form, tastes delicious like candy, and doesn't cause gastric issues. You can find black garlic from sources like Black Garlic North America or Polar. Polar offers an organic variety from China, where all the cloves are fused in a single bulb, so there's no need for fussy peeling.

I crush whole garlic cloves in my mouth with a few crunches and wash them down with orange juice. It's like swallowing pills, and you don't lose all the sulfur by waiting 15 minutes.

I enjoy eating minced garlic on rice cakes. I'm not sure why, but the rice seems to absorb most of the stinging and burning sensations, making the garlic much more palatable. I use mini rice cakes and add a single clove per piece.

Slice the garlic thinly and place it on green apple slices with a sprinkle of sea salt. It's delicious and super healthy, great for your oral health too.
