Is it okay to reduce your calorie intake by 100 calories per week while trying to lose weight?

I usually lose too much muscle when cutting, so I'm taking a slower approach this time. Since February, I've been cutting 100 calories every two weeks, and it's going well. Can I start cutting 100 calories every week now?

Never reduce your calorie intake by more than 10% of what you usually eat. Also, take a break from cutting once a week.

If you're losing more than a pound a week while cutting, I would consider that too much. Ideally, you should determine your maintenance calorie intake. When you want to cut fat, aim for 300 calories below maintenance. If you want to gain weight, aim for 300 calories above maintenance.
