How do Omega 3s work and stay in the body? Online, it's recommended to have 2 servings of fatty fish a week, about 4oz each. But with the pills, it says to take them every day. Do Omega 3s stay in the system at higher levels for a few days, which is why you only need to have fish twice a week?

Fish consumption limits are often more about avoiding heavy metal and other contaminants than about nutrition. Another approach is to reduce omega-6 intake to balance the ratio between omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. It's the balance between these two that appears to be crucial, rather than the exact amounts.

You can also get Omega-3 from flax seeds. Just blend them with other fruits or veggies to make a smoothie.
