Who has lost weight without being too mindful of hitting their protein goal?

I've been losing weight without focusing much on hitting my protein goal. It's been tough because I'm really careful about my carb intake, but I struggle to meet my protein goal without going over my calorie limit. I eat balanced meals with all food groups, mostly home-cooked and without processed foods. I stay within my calorie limit, but somehow my carb intake is higher. It's stressing me out. Can anyone share their experience of losing weight without worrying too much about protein intake?

I don't have a specific protein goal; I just eat up to my calorie limit. Whatever protein I get is whatever I get.

Yes, I lost weight without focusing on protein or even knowing about macronutrients... but then I gained it all back and more. Every body is different, and mine needs a high protein intake to function well. I've lost 100 pounds and maintained for over a year now. It took me too long to realize that protein is crucial for my journey.

The first time I lost weight, about 40-45 pounds, I didn't really look at my macros, except for making sure I got enough fiber to stay regular. I just focused on counting calories, and it worked quickly. I worked out throughout the whole process without any issues. I pay more attention to my macros now, but I know that if I have days with low protein, it won't ruin my progress as long as I hit my calorie goal.

I've been advised to consume between 150 to 250 grams or more of protein daily, but it feels unrealistic unless I rely solely on protein powder and chicken breasts.

I never paid attention to macros (and still don't). I lost 130 pounds (60 kilograms) and have maintained it for 18 years. I've learned that meals rich in protein and fiber keep me full, while carbs give me energy for running. I aim to limit 'fun food' to about 20% of my intake, though some days, like Saturdays, it's more.

I usually only eat meat once a day, and not a lot of it. So, I don't reach my protein target in the apps. However, I'm still losing weight.

Considering a good protein powder might be beneficial. I've been consuming nearly a gram of protein per pound of body weight for the last 6 months, and the results in muscle building and maintenance have been incredible. For me, keeping carbs under 200g and fats between 60-80g has been the winning formula. I went from 262 to 210 pounds in about 6 months using this approach. I've found that focusing on hitting my protein goal helps me balance the other macros. I also opt for low-carb options for wraps and snacks. It's been an enjoyable puzzle to figure out.

The most important factor in losing weight is calories. However, protein plays a role in how the weight is lost—whether it's fat or muscle. I don't stress too much about it, but I try to get as much protein as I can reasonably. On days when I can't reach my goal, I use protein powder as a supplement.

I went from 70kg to 63kg without paying much attention to my protein intake. I just tracked my calories and tried to avoid sugar as much as possible.

I've also lost weight without stressing too much about hitting protein goals. My focus was more on overall calorie intake and maintaining a balanced diet with home-cooked meals. I noticed my carb intake was higher too, but as long as I stayed within my calorie limit, I still saw progress. Anyone else have a similar experience?
