Is low calorie high protein diet helpful?

I'm wondering if a low-calorie, high-protein diet could help me lose body fat while still getting stronger. I'm a 5'6" male weighing 75 kg, hitting the gym five times a week. Currently, I aim for at least 120g of protein daily, but I'm not seeing much reduction in body fat. Would increasing protein intake to at least 140g and cutting calories to 1500 be beneficial for fat loss while maintaining strength? Thanks for your input!

I suggest prioritizing body fat loss before focusing on getting stronger. However, I wouldn't recommend dieting for more than 16 weeks at a stretch.

You're only around 10 pounds or 5 kilograms overweight, so you don't need to lose too much. Cutting down to 1500 calories might be a bit much. Consuming 1700-1900 calories while lifting heavy three times a week should be enough. Sometimes, it takes a while for your body to adjust to a new eating routine. Whatever you do, don't expect immediate results in the first two weeks.

It's only possible to gain muscle in a calorie deficit if you're new to training. Otherwise, you'll likely need to go through bulk and cut cycles.

You require energy to get stronger, to build muscle, and to exercise. It's challenging to achieve sufficient strength and muscle without the right diet. In fact, you might be wasting time and effort. It's better to focus on one goal first, like bulking, and then move on to cutting body fat.

I don't think you can build much muscle on a calorie deficit, only maintain what you have
